SIGNS OF THE CHINESE ZODIAC

Chinese legend has it that Buddha (563 - 483 bc) invited all the earth's animals to visit him but only twelve came, the first being the rat. To thank them, Buddha decreed that one month of the year should be dedicated to each of them.
[legends vary on this, another version replaces Buddha with the semimythological Yellow Emperor]

The first table will give you your sign which is governed by the year of your birth, your Yin/Yang force, plus your Chinese natural element.
The second table shows some of your best characteristics, and the third a list of famous people you share your sign with.
[this is a fairly good guide, although specific dates are needed for complete accuracy.]
