Uploaded both today AND yesterday's
posts as I couldn't connect last night. Again. I spent over
2 hours on the 'phone this morning to my ISP's 'technical services'
guys and finally thought things were sorted.
Wrong! I know the problem's not at my end as I can connect to
the net through other ISP's (tho' not upload stuff here without
reconfiguring everything) but hate doing that as I end up paying
twice for my connection - once for my monthly 24-7 access and
then again for the individual connections via an alternate server.
Anyway, enough moaning. I thought this was a pretty cool script
you might like to play with. I did a post on the Chinese
Zodiac a few weeks back and have added the url again as
it ties in nicely.

[My neice/goddaughter Maddie is a big 6 years old today]
The internet never fails to captivate my attention with all
the amazing stuff you can find out there. Just when you think
you've seen it all [figuratively speaking] you come across
something different.
BookCrossing
is one of the nicest discoveries for a while.
The idea is to share your favourite book[s] with others after
registering it at their site. You then'leave' the book in
a public place: cafe table/park bench/on a train [eg.] to
be found by its next 'owner.' That person contacts BookCrossing
to let them know its whereabouts and they in turn 'leave'
the book to be found again, and so on and so on.... This is
all much better summed up in their own words:
"You know the feeling you get after reading a book
that speaks to you, that touches your life, a feeling that
you want to share it with someone else? BookCrossing.com gives
you a simple way to share your books with the world, and follow
their paths forever more."
"It's also a fascinating exercise in fate, karma,
or whatever you want to call the chain of events that can
occur between two or more lives and one piece of literature."
The site has a list of registered users, one lady in particular
having registered 1368 books! To paraphrase Oscar Wilde:
"To lose one book, madam, may
be regarded as misfortune;
To lose 1368 looks like carelessness."
Still here? What are you waiting for? Go lose a book or two
today!

Arty started his Easter holidays today so we spent the day
together.
I worked intermittently and he drew some amazing pictures
of Medieval villages, played with Minnie and chatted away
about everything under the sun. I really enjoy his company
and today was just like the 'old days' before he went to school.
He's still my baby!

Lovely sunny day which seemed to put everyone in a
good mood. It's supposed to stay nice for the rest of
the week, so maybe Spring really IS just around the
corner.

Picked Tom, Daisy & George up from school at lunchtime
as they start their Easter holidays today, and then
met my mum for lunch. We had a really nice afternoon wandering
round the shops and just enjoying being together.
I was really tired when we got home and very tempted to chill
out and do nothing tonight, but after cooking [and half-heartedly
eating] the evening meal, I dragged myself off to my studio
to finish and upload this weeks linkware set: Cards
on the Table which has a slightly more masculine feel
than many of the other sets.

So glad all you 'kids' [!!] enjoyed the Hobbit thing yesterday!
I'm having everyone here for lunch on Sunday, so tomorrow
will probably be a 'peeling vegetables and setting the table'
kinda day.
Have a good Good Friday and great weekend.

Had a lovely Easter Day and hope you all did too.
Had everyone for lunch which was nice - Minnie [stole and]
ate too many Easter eggs so will probably be sick tonight.
Yuk!
I know the post here are getting smaller lately, but the kids
are on holiday and I'm trying to have a life too!
